God’s good, acceptable and perfect will

(God’s will and purpose is to reign over a perfect kingdom, with creation’s harmony restored and a people redeemed among whom he delights to dwell. However, his enemy, Satan, has presently seduced humankind into aligning with his attitudes of pride and self-will, so that wills other than God’s own have influence also in this present age. They have been made acceptable for a limited time because, while God has total respect for our free-will, yet his passionate love desires to offer reconciliation through Jesus to as many as possible for as long as possible. So, while affairs on earth in this season of his grace are impacted upon by competing wills, they nevertheless remain subject to God’s sovereign oversight, with his guiding and restraining hand working for good toward all who will believe and receive.)

Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, Acts 17:30 NASB

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Revelation 21: 3‑5 NIV

“What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him? You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honour and put everything under their feet.” In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them. Hebrews 2: 6‑8 NIV

“The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’ “Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man. “Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.” Acts 17: 24‑31 NASB

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13: 20‑21 NIV

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5: 15‑20 NIV

[Employees, serve] your [management here on earth] with fear and trembling; and do it with a sincere heart, as though you were serving Christ. Do your work as slaves cheerfully, as though you served the Lord, and not merely human beings. Ephesians 6: 5‑7 GNT
